The statistics revealed that March witnessed the largest increase in active mobile subscribers adding about 2.53 million new subscribers.
“Breakdown of the 99.14 million lines as at March indicated that while the major GSM companies had 94.53 million active subscriptions, the CDMA recorded 4.01 million while fixed line operators only had 599,335 lines on their networks,” Nigeria’s Daily Trust revealed.
The number of total connected mobile lines is however much larger and currently stands at about 134.91 million connected lines.
The NCC numbers also confirms that teledensity in Nigeria is now at about 70% with over 134 million connected mobile lines, over 13 million mobile (CDMA) lines (4,01 million active) and 2,3 million fixed wired/wireless lines (only 599,335 active).
